What we collect when you use The Next Row, why, and the choices you have. Last updated 7 November 2026.

Who we are

The Next Row runs thenextrow.com. For anything about your data, email hello@thenextrow.com.

Your practice progress

The free practice saves your progress in your browser’s local storage: the exercises you’ve finished, your XP, streak and daily goal, your test result, and the name you type for your certificate. It stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. Clearing your browsing data deletes it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how people find the site and which pages and lessons help them. It records the pages you visit, what you do in the practice (for example, finishing an exercise or a lesson, or your test score), where you came from (for example, a search engine, or a link with campaign tags), and your device, browser and approximate location.

Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_PMYVEWZYDT, which last up to two years. We keep the data for 14 months. Google processes it for us and may do so outside your country.

Advertising

No advertising tags run on this site today. If we start measuring ads, for example to see whether an ad led someone to start practising, we’ll update this notice first, and where the law requires your consent we’ll only measure with it.

Cookies and your choices

If you’re in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we ask first, and nothing loads from Google until you agree. Elsewhere, analytics is on unless you turn it off. Wherever you are, , also at the bottom of every page, lets you change your mind. When you turn analytics off, Google Tag Manager stops loading and we delete the Google Analytics cookies this site set.

We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage, so we don’t have to ask on every page.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts the site. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, it processes technical data such as your IP address, and it tells our site which country a visit comes from, so we can show the right cookie choice. We don’t store your IP address.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address to reply, and keep them for our records. Our email is handled by Cloudflare and Google.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete data we hold about you. Email hello@thenextrow.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your data protection authority: in South Africa, the Information Regulator; in the UK, the ICO; in the EU, your national authority.

Changes

If this notice changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
